Bridal Handbags- A must or a bust?
All brides have pondered this question while getting their final wedding details together. Should I bring a handbag to the church or reception? What wedding day essentials would I need in that bag? Over the past few weeks, we’ve been doing our research on why brides need a purse for their special day.
At first, you might not think you want something extra to carry, along with your bouquet and holding your dress up. Before deciding against it, read on to hear what other brides and wedding industry professionals have said about their experience with bridal handbags.
The Fashion Newspaper says that “designer wedding handbags are not only fashionable but also functional”. We believe that a bridal handbag is more of a functional accessory for this big day than it is just for looks. Of course, there are some stunning bridal purses out there but once you decide on needing a purse for function, you can show your personality through fashion.
One bride we spoke to says she “absolutely needed a handbag on ‘her’ wedding day”. Her three essential items were her cell phone, a comb, and lipstick. She said the lipstick came in handy because she had to reapply it several times from “kissing everyone, drinking, and talking so much”! Doesn’t that just sum up a wonderful day?! The other thing she touched on was the fact that even though they had a place for guests to put their cards and checks, several people still handed her a check personally. Luckily, she could gracefully slip it into her handbag on the table.
To sum it up from the brides on WeddingWire, although you won’t be needing a handbag on your walk down the aisle, you may need it for the reception. Really, you don’t even have to carry it as you have bridesmaids to assist you on your day. Once you get to the reception with your bouquet, you can drop that off on your table and have your MOH be in charge of your purse for any essentials you need that evening. Then when you leave the reception, you have everything packed together to get you to the hotel where the rest of your items will be waiting.
Now that we’ve covered function in a bridal purse, we can touch on the fun fashion side of selecting the perfect handbag for you! The wedding purse industry has really grown and you have as much of a choice with this handbag as you do with any other you choose. You can get one with or without a strap, a white, ivory or metallic one, one with beading, or even a dye-able one to show your colorful side!
Here are a few top sellers from the wedding industry:
So you can see that we have decided that a bridal handbag is a MUST for your wedding day. Continue reading
