Today we have another post in our series, Shoes from the Past! Did you know that My Glass Slipper has been selling wedding shoes for more than a decade? We’ve seen a lot of bridal shoes come and go, and now we want to show you some of our past bestsellers.
Badgley Mischka designs some of the most sought-after bridal shoes, and our love for the designer label dates back to 2003.
Today we’re sharing one of the label’s early wedding shoes: Hydrangea by Badgley Mischka.
Though it’s been nearly a decade since its release, Hydrangea by Badgley Mischka still stands as a beautiful shoe: We love it’s elegant simplicity and unique usage of pearls. The Hydrangea wedding shoe is one of the few shoes to use pearls in this manner. Rather than making a brooch or a mere cluster, they completely covered the toe strap in pearls of varying diameter. Each pearl was stitched on, not glued, so you can image the craftsmanship required to produce this style.
At $380.00, these shoes were some of the most expensive offered at My Glass Slipper. It would be hard to estimate the cost of these shoes today. The shoe has not been produced since 2003 and is not available for special order anywhere.
Today we rarely see wedding shoes covered with such tightly clustered pearls. But if you love the look of overall pearls, we highly suggest a pearl bridal purse. It adds just the right touch to your wedding day ensemble. Here are some pearl wedding purses from MyGlassSlipper.com:
What do you think of these wedding shoes from the past? Would you wear them today, or do you think they’re outdated? Tell us what you think on our Facebook page! And if you happened to wear these shoes to your wedding, we’d love to hear from you, too.
